Did you ever dream about working somewhere where security isn't a box ticking exercise but something that everyone cares and jokes about? (Our company has gotten really good at spotting phishing emails) Does sharing knowledge so that you become a multiplier give you as much satisfaction as when you hack at it yourself? When was the last time you thought of a great idea, got buy in and then shipped it that week? Amazing, then you're the type of person we're looking for! At Jungle Scout, we are on a mission to empower entrepreneurs to be successful Amazon sellers. We work hard, keep it real and do it all for our customers by providing industry-leading tools, education and content. We're growing and we are looking to add an Application Security Engineer to our fast-paced and customer-oriented Engineering team in Vancouver! We are looking for someone to build best practices around site reliability and help us continue to cultivate a culture of self service for our developers to deploy and monitor their work autonomously. Interested in learning more? Let's get into the details: What You'll Do * You'll be the lead in creating and iterating on security tooling across our stack. * Work with developers, managers and other internal IT staff to constantly improve how we think about security. * You will play a critical role in the technology decisions we make on new applications and development processes. * Work with developers and product owners at the fruition of new features to help shape how the feature is architected. * You will report to the VP of engineering on security initiatives as well as the status of OKR's and KPI's. * Help us to keep track of our third party dependencies and ensure vulnerabilities are tracked and resolved. * Carry out internal security audits and maintain our bug bounty programme. * Collaborate with our delivery team to ensure our CI/CD are catching security issues before they get deployed. If your answer is “heck yeah!”, please read on.... Who You Are * You have strong experience architecting secure systems on AWS in a security role. * We believe experience is best measured in results and intensity (not years), but you need to have developed significant security engineering components from inception to production with minimal oversight and guidance. * We would like you to have a programming language like Ruby, Py or Go in your toolbelt. * We're looking for someone who crushes it when it comes to automating security in deployment pipelines, performing security assessments and can spot our failures with manual and automated pen tests. * Certified. It would be nice to see you have completed the CISSP and/or AWS security certification.
