Alternative options for jobs

This page will list alternative options to approach getting employed or gaining experience in a particular field. By alternative, I mean relatively non-traditional approaches like Remote work and bidding for gigs.

Flexjobs

Flexjobs is a portal that lists remote jobs of all kinds of job profiles. Data Science related jobs are relatively few, though definitely not absent, and I am observing this number to have increased in 2019, as compared to 2018.

The Memo [No -longer active apparently]

The Memo is a free newsletter :

> "The Memo features a variety of remote roles at early-stage startups. The goal is to connect 1,000+ remoters with startup positions by 2020."

I think there is a lot of potential with the goal behind this newsletter, and I’ve signed on as a founding member.

Craigslist (for Vancouver)

The classifieds may be a good place to start looking for work in times like these. This works well atleast for some purposes in some places, for example in Vancouver. Here are some useful links:
