Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) is looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead the development of a new ground breaking product within the EKS offering (EKS-Edge). We have an ambitious roadmap that will redefine how customers can use EKS on edge devices in complex connectivity scenarios.

Amazon EKS allows our customers to use Kubernetes at scale without the undifferentiated heavy lifting required to manage Kubernetes. Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of AWS by providing the best possible experience for customers using Kubernetes. As a leader of the within the EKS-Edge service offering you will be responsible for building and owning core services in charge of supporting EKS on different edge compute environments by owning the relevant EKS-Edge APIs, cloud formation support, and supporting tooling. The ideal candidate understands software development. AWS operates large-scale, mission critical workloads, so you must be comfortable taking responsibility for the operational excellence of your service.

Basic Qualifications BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field 5+ years’ experience in system & software development and delivery 2+ years’ experience building, leading, managing and mentoring high-performance engineering teams Experience in building and operating distributed systems at scale Preferred Qualifications Experience leading the delivery of large-scale systems Experience in open source and a desire to work with Kubernetes Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including non-technical audience
