Rogers is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to play a key role in building complex solutions by turning data into actionable insights through conceptualizing, designing, developing analytical solutions as required. With the flexability to be based out of our downtown Toronto campus or the at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, this position is responsible for Solution Design and Development of BI Cloud Projects. R eporting to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Data and Analytics, this individual will be expected to lead in the successful delivery of several simultaneous projects working collaboratively with multiple business units, IT teams and external partners.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture,
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Azure , AWS and other ‘big data’ technologies.
Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.
Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
Help drive transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing processes and optimize for efficiency and data quality.
Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
Accountable for Scalability/Elasticity, Availability and Performance of our pipelines.

What You Need to Have:

Excellent knowledge of SQL and Python
Experience with cloud platforms, both Azure and AWS
Preferred knowledge of Java / Scala
Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL? databases (data modeling, data warehousing)
Experience in Data Modeling, ETL Development, and Data Warehousing.
Ability to multi-task on multiple high priority projects \ deliverables.
Knowledge of Data Management fundamentals and Data Storage principles.
Experience coding and automating processes using Python or R.
Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency, and drive.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
