We are hiring for a Data Scientist!
PayByPhone? is looking to hire a talented Data Scientist to join our new and expanding Data Analytics team. In this role, you will get the opportunity to partner with the business and stakeholders to help solve urgent business needs from a data perspective.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Develop and set up analytical tools and platforms to enable tracking and testing of marketing, product and business performance Use sound statistical methods for testing business-level hypotheses and answering desired business questions Process and analyze large amounts of data combined from internal and external sources to identify possible trends and patterns Assist in the design of fair evaluations for marketing campaigns, and A/B tests for product features Collaborate with product managers, engineers, marketers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business insights into decisions and actions Present facts and findings to enable data-driven decision making to company leadership and other stakeholders Work closely with the Data Engineering team to improve our data collection, data storage, and data processing systems A producer and consumer of data, with a keen eye for detail and quality, along with a healthy dose of skepticism

The must-haves:
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Biostatistics or a similar quantitative field is preferred. 4+ years of experience in an engineering, data science, analytics or business intelligence field Experience in cleaning, analyzing and presenting data in clear, understandable and interpretable forms to audiences of varied technical expertise Competency in probability and applied statistics Strong demonstrable knowledge of relational databases and querying using SQL Is able to present data and results in clear and concise forms, and to audiences of varying backgrounds (e.g. developers vs. marketing vs. executives etc.)
The nice to haves:
Previous experience with training and developing machine learning models (e.g. Amazon SageMaker, Python, scikit-learn, R) is preferred, but not mandatory Working experience using Python (or R, Julia, F# etc.) for processing data, and also with data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g. pandas, bokeh, matplotlib, ggsplot, d3.js)
