What will your typical day look like?
As a Data Scientist on our Data Science team within the Omnia AI practice, you are passionate about data and technology solutions, are driven to learn about them and keep up with market evolution. You will play an active role throughout the entire engagement cycle, specializing in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning and data wrangling. You are enthusiastic about all things data, have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, are tech savvy and have a solid understanding of software development.
Specifically, in this role, you will:
Take a hands-on role in delivering advisory services to high growth organizations with a diverse team consisting of data scientists, data architects, software developers, information designers, and business/industry leaders Perform machine learning, natural language processing, statistical modelling, computations, and data ETL to deliver best-of-breed analytical solutions for clients’ business problems Work with large amounts of data on a granular level, from structured and unstructured data sources Participate in various structured and ad-hoc analysis projects, performing data analysis, communicating insights on client projects, and provide support in planning and data collection Assist with and/or lead pitches and proposal bids, as well as different areas of project management, including client projects and internal initiatives

Omnia AI, Deloitte’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) practice is comprised of a collaborative team of experts who use their hands-on experience with cutting-edge information assets to facilitate successful AI transformations. We develop AI-enabled solutions to address all aspects of a client’s transformative journey with disciplined focus on business outcomes.

You are someone with:
3+ years relevant work experience applying analytics and statistics on large complex data sets, including manipulation and preparation of data Strong experience with statistical analytical techniques, data mining, machine learning and predictive models, using Python, R, SAS, or similar tools in on-premise or cloud environments Database and programming experience, including data wrangling skills using SQL, Oracle, Hadoop, NoSQL Databases, or similar tools in on-premise or cloud environments Ability to work with data with significant ambiguity, develop creative approaches to analytical problems, and interpret data and results from a business/industry perspective Completed BA/BSc degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required; advanced degree (MA/MSc, equivalent or higher) is preferred.
